Dictator will not allow second opinion or another examination say Salah's family
Colombo - 20:30 - The family of murdered Hussain Salah told DO that the Dictator has decided to take the body back to the Maldives despite request from the family to get a second professional opinion and even conduct another autopsy if required. In reaction to this, Dictator's spokesman Mr. Shareef (The Bokey) told local media yesterday that if the body was not brought back by last night, they will hand it over to the family in Colombo, adding that government will not pay for another post-mortem. Once again, they are saying one thing and doing the opposite. The body will not be handed over to the family rather it will be flown to Maldives, that is the latest the family has. And, with regard to the expenses, the family said that they never wanted or asked the Dictator to pay for the expenses even in the first place. They also said that despite the fact they were allowed to accompany the body to Colombo, it remains a property of the Dictator and the family cannot do anything without permission. The Legal team of the family are considering their options now, according to the family.

Maldives Human Rights Commission 'NOT' convinced of Salah's death by 'drowning' or is this just another political game?
The Human Rights Commissioner of the Maldives, Mr. Ahmed Saleem has apparently opened an investigation into the circumstances surrounding Hussain Salah's death, reports say. A Committee of 4 members and two legal officers will investigate the case, who HRCM say are independent of any political party. Perhaps HRCM is trying to pretend that they are not convinced of the much hyped cause of death by 'drowning' as being propagated by the Dictator. This will be yet another test of the HRCM's independence, ability and sincerity, according to political analysts. Meanwhile, Salah's family is awaiting for permission from the regime to conduct further investigations, seek a second opinion and seeking professional advice on a possible second post-mortem examination to get to the bottom this incident. The family believes that interference of the regime makes the preliminary results of the post-mortem conducted in Colombo this week as "contradictory and inexplicable", which is of course scientifically invalid, since there is no known method of determining 'drowning' as the cause of death by an autopsy (or post-mortem examination). Commenting on the matter, a political analyst said "Human Rights Commissioner Mr. Saleem is a long-term accomplice of Dictator Gayyoom. Saleem was personally involved in all this. He is now trying to cool off things and cover up by collecting and destroying relevant evidence that the public currently possess. We cannot trust him, as this is nothing but a political game".
Science
Diaotoms in Forensic
The post-mortem examination of drowning, is one of the most difficult problems in forensic. Although there are some typical signs of drowning known, its still difficult to determine a death by drowning. The real hard cases are the deceased body's where the post-mortem signs are very difficult or impossible to determine. Worst case, is a skeleton found close to, or into a liquid medium (e.g. water). If a body is found in water is does not necessarily mean, that this person has drowned. Therefore one have to come up with this questions: drowned the person by conscious (e.g. nonswimmer, suicide); drowned by unconsciousness (e.g. beaten, surfing accident); sudden death (e.g. heart stroke); already dead (e.g. get rid of a body); more

Salah's family compelled to seek a second professional opinion regarding post-mortem examinations conducted in Colombo
The family of late Hussain Salah of Naazukeege, Hithadoo, Addu Atoll, Maldives states that the family is compelled to seek a second professional opinion regarding the findings of the postmortem examination conducted in Colombo. The family wishes to note that they were of the belief that the transferring of the body of Hussain Salah to Colombo and the post mortem examination would be done with minimum involvement of the government of Maldives. However, the family was disappointed and dismayed to witness delays in the transfer of the body to Colombo, particularly the delay at the Colombo Katunayaka airport caused due to the involvement of the government of Maldives. The presence and interference of the Maldives police in the matter clearly shows that the post mortem examination was conducted on the request of and with extensive involvement by the government of Maldives. more

Comparison of the world's briefest autopsy report with a professional one
Hussain Salah's preliminary Autopsy report is compared to another proper autopsy report. You will se how extensively such a report talks about the body systems and any abnormalities. Lets hope that the final autopsy report of Hussain Salah is a thorough and comprehensive one. Many questions arise as the speed of the report was a breakthrough in post mortem history. Usually it takes 24 hours for a post mortem report to be completed. And as the government has been defiant in this case at the last moment also they have shown that they could never be trusted. more

This is done through one of the directors of Galaxy Enterprises, Brigadier Ahmed Naeem, second in command of Maldives National Defence Force, who remains a puppet of Chief Torturer Adam Zahir. Male' -16:55 - Ibrahim Zareer, the brother of murdered Salah was summoned to police an hour ago and was told that the government had decided to conduct the post-mortem in Male' by bringing pathologists from abroad. This is despite the pleas by the family to let them take the deceased to Sri Lanka to do a full examination themselves to establish the cause of death. Zareer earlier told reporters that the family does not accept this decision and that they have the right to take the body abroad, which was the majority wish of the family. Zareer was also told that he has no option but to accept this since it is the decision of the government and that if the family wanted to keep a representative present at the time of the post-mortem, then they are to give the details including bio-data of such a person for consideration. What is funny is that if the family rejects this, they could be jailed for disobeying orders, an outcome that cannot be ruled out given past incidents.

Whoever you are, sleep tight as you have a government going out of its way to protect you! Here is what they have done to cover you: - The State media first blatantly lied on TV saying that the body found had no visible injury. We all have seen the photos, therefore we know Salah was killed. - To prevent people from gathering in protest against such crime, over 15 people were arrested, and some of them beaten up. We all remember the picture of Anni being punched by the police. more

And as the government has been defiant in this case at the last moment also they have shown that they could never be trusted. more

Rest of the family members are to join him in the evening, despite the fact that several seats in the morning flight. A staff at Galaxy Enterprises Maldives, the General Sales Agent (GSA) for Sri Lankan in the Maldives, was categorically told by Police, not to give any additional seats to Salah's family members. This is done through one of the directors of Galaxy Enterprises, Brigadier Ahmed Naeem, second in command of Maldives National Defence Force, who remains a puppet of Chief Torturer Adam Zahir. Brigadier Naeem was an accomplice of Torturer Adam Zahir and was he himself a known torturer, according to our sources. This shows how desperate the regime is to destroy any and all evidence relating to the murder of this innocent man from Addu.

They have also offered to have a police man present the whole time and accompany them abroad," Suood said.
