Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) holds historic meeting

Last night (11th June 2005), MDP held its first official assembly to discuss details of the formation of the party, which has already submitted the required petition from the public for the registration of the party.

The assembly held in Iskandharu School in Male' was attended by thousands of MDP supporters and well-wishers. Several senior leading figures of the party movement spoke in tonight's meeting.

Gayyoom should look hard at himself now. The people of Maldives are clearly fed up with his oppressive rule and wants freedom and democracy.

As the saying goes, a pictures is like a thousand words. Hassan who attends every meeting and gathering of MDP said, I just want to tell Gayyoom to take a good look at these photos and listen to the voices of the people "Eat your heart out Gayyoom, you are going to be history soon! We will depose you in style!"
