The Tony Blair story
"I came into office with high hopes for Britain's future. I leave it with even higher hopes for Britain's future. It has been an honour to serve it. I give my thanks to you, the British people." Tony Blair
Tony Blair has always stood out from the crowd. At school he drove his teachers to distraction, constantly questioning their authority. At university, he acted out his rock star fantasies as the lead singer of a band. Few at that stage would have predicted a career in the sober world of politics, even though Blair's charisma and ability to charm people were evident from an early age. more

Scientists predict global warming could displace one billion people by 2050
The Maldives have a population of only about 350,000, and this population can easily be accommodated along Balochistan's sparsely inhabited Makran Coast, which is now connected to Karachi by a new coastal highway. The Makran Coast has some of the most beautiful beaches in the world, which could attract a lot of tourists if beach resorts are developed along the coast. Maldivians are experts at building world-class tourist resorts. They have built hundreds on the islands in the Maldives, leading to a huge boom in tourism. Indeed, tourism is the main source of income in the Maldives. more

Home Minister Thasmeen resigns and AK (47) to replace him
Reliable sources have confirmed that Thasmeen Ali, Home Minister, has resigned from his post after a clash with Golhaabo over the continued influence of Commissioner of Police Adam Zahir and the situation in Maafushi jail. According our sources, Thasmeen demanded the removal of Adam Zahir from the post of Commissioner of Police and requested the promotion of Ibrahim Latheef, the current Deputy Commissioner to that post. However, Golhaabo refused it and has now reportedly accepted Thasmeen's resignation and will appoint current Fisheries Minister, Abdulla Kamaaluddeen (AK-47), his most loyal slave, to the post of Home Minister. There are also reports that Deputy Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Latheef has also submitted his resignation and several other officers who support Latheef are also contemplating resignation. According to reports, Thasmeen was offered the post of Defence Minister as well as Youth Minister, both of which he has refused. It is not clear whether he will remain in Golhaabo's cabinet. In addition, Brigadier Moosa Jaleel is also reported to have submitted his resignation from Defence Forces, however we are unable to confirm this report.

Mrs. George's selling line is apparently," I am the Tourism Minister, so I can easily do the deal for you," said our source. Mrs. George also got over a million dollars in loan from Hatton National Bank of Sri Lanka last year to build his home, after he cut a deal for a Sri Lankan firm. According to our sources, you can get anything done by Tourism Ministry now if you have a few hundred thousand dollars to bribe Mrs. George.

The Dream

By the strength of our common endeavour, to achieve what we cannot do alone, to grant each of us the power to realize our full potential, and the means to create for this and future generations a community in which power, wealth and opportunity are in the hands of the many not the few, where the respect we receive reflect the duties we owe, so that freed from the tyranny of poverty, ignorance and fear, we could live together in spirit of solidarity tolerance and respect.

[Clause 4 - Labour Party - UK]
