Abdulla
Shahid's family in Singapore for concern over health of
his father
Male' - Confirmed reports
say that the family left to Singapore day before
yesterday, all in business class as Shahid is now a very
rich man, being the Executive Secretary of Gayyoom.
The situation is with his
father who needs a hip replacement. The estimated cost
of this trip along with medical expenses is going to be
more than Mrf 600,000/- (around US$ 50K). The expenses
are fully covered by Gayyoom's special insurance scheme
paid for by us Maldivians. So, the maths is that every
Maldivian is paying around 2 Rufiyaa for Shahid's
Fathers' hip replacement procedure in Singapore.
Shahid is obviously
staying in his penthouse in Singapore, courtesy of
Mohamed Adil (Moho), owner of Reethi Rah Resort (One and
Only) and the rest of the family are staying 2 other
houses, also owned by the family.
We wish his father a quick
recovery but would like him to push hard to get the same
service to our mothers and fathers, otherwise it is not
fair.

Prisoner
escapes from Maafushi Jail
Maafushi – Sources within
Police and in Maafushi have confirmed that a prisoner
had escaped last night and search going now in Maafushi
Island to recapture him. No further details are
available at the moment.
Parents and guardians of
prisoners are encouraged to call Police to find out
whether their relative is safe and not the escapee.
Sceptics say that "they
must have killed and buried someone and are staging this
escape drama. They have done that before. Once during a
construction project, we found two bodies in a dug up
shallow hole, they even had their wrist watches on and
they were laid properly".
The search continues.

Gayyoom
had direct influence in the election of the parliament
Speaker yesterday
Male' - Sources in
Gayyoom's office said that he came to office at 8 am
yesterday and called in his nephew Shaheen, the Deputy
Speaker of the Special Majlis and Kutti Nasheed, the
Secretary General of the Parliament. He told his nephew
to ensure that an open vote is called for in support of
Gayyoom's own brother in law Abbas Ibrahim and to keep
in mind the extreme ability of his Father Abdulla Hameed,
Gayyoom's brother, who has been the Speaker of the
Majlis in the past.
DO can also confirm
that Gayyoom phoned all the cabinet ministers the night
before and ordered them to support Abbas Ibrahim.
Gayyoom wants to make
sure that reform goes his way and that his family
remains in power forever.
Gayyoom usually goes
to office between 9-9:30 am and his sudden arrival at 8
am yesterday was shocking to even his own staff, DO can

ADK
Nasdhid should get Dhonakulhi as compensation for unfair

Mr Nashid of ADK
Enterprises placed a bid with a rent of US$12,500 for

bid was disqualified saying that the rent he proposed
was unfeasible. This decision was ultimately sealed by
tourism veteran and the chairman of the bid evaluation
team at that time, Mr Champa Afeef himself. Furthermore
Mr Afeef said that if the rent proposed by Mr Nashid is
feasible, then Mr Afeef was willing to give all his
resorts to Mr Nashid as a gift.

Being a Maldivian I am pissed off by the government's
action over the unrest in Male' in the recent months.
The drug addicts have grown in numbers as if it is being
spawned here. Literally they are in more numbers than
you find scrap in the roads of Male'. It’s like a
virtual image of the backstreets of LA. You have no
security even in broad day light in the capital island
of the Islamic nation where it is hardly 1.5 km long.
Stabbing, looting and street fights are like everyday
activities in Male'. It wouldn’t be surprised to hear in
the next minute that there is another killing or a girl
being raped on the street corners of Male'. This is the
situation in this so called peaceful country by the
government officials like Dr. Shaheed.

Maldivian Heroes of Democracy
In a historic move of defiance to uphold
the constitution of the Country, 23 Member of the Parliament walked out
from today's' assembly. Pro-reformists who are openly advocating
pluralistic democracy in the Maldives demanded that the election of the
President and Vice-President (as per clause 97 of the Constitution of
the Maldives) be conducted according to Clause 133 by a secret ballot.
These clauses clearly state that it will be unconstitutional to conduct
any election in any other method. However, in total disregard for the
constitution of the country, Mr. Abdullah Hameed, the temporary President
of today's assembly said "it does not matter, we have traditionally done
this by raising hand and that is how we will conduct it today as well".
Not only that, as soon as 2 names were nominated, he closed the
nomination and order to conduct the election. Presidents' Member
Fathulla Jameel nominated Justice Minister Ahmed Zahir and similarly Mr.
Ibrahim Hussain Zaki nominated Mr. Gasim Ibrahim, who is an active
advocate of reform. read more

Gayyoom's
core policy; The fine art of covering up
The central key policy in the gayoom
administration is solely made on the belief that they
can NOT make any mistakes. And even if they did,
it had to be brushed off like it never happened. And
certainly the incident should not be mentioned in any
form.
Frankly speaking, Abdel Gayoom is one of the few leaders
who are known to rule with a magic wand in their hands.
If he isn’t making any mistakes then he’s perfect.
There’s no room for any improvement. This includes any
one blessed under his spectra including Ministers all up
to relatives and key government officials. Obviously the
low ranking officials aren’t included. These low level
employees are thus very mishap prone and they don’t shy
from the law either. For instance we often hear this and
that employee been busted for foul play.

Earlier this week

Their CV’s look quite impressive. However, what is
unusual is that there is hardly anything written about
the company these experts are from, apart from a TDI
logo at the top of their CV's and there is no reference
or mention of their job title within the company, group
of consortium. In addition to that, an American Company
is paid in pounds, indicating that there are some links
