Justice Minister trying to cut an old deal in Colombo
Colombo - Sources in Colombo have confirmed that the
newly appointed Justice Minister, Hon. Jameel checked
into Hilton Hotel 26th July night with a close associate
Ibrahim Rasheed, brother of businessman Soarey (Farook
Umar). The purpose of this hi-fly visit to Colombo is to
negotiate a deal to secure Biyaadhoo Resort which has
been in the courts as Soarey is desperate to penetrate
into the tourism sector and believes that he is the
rightful winner of the bid which was awarded to Sunland
group, for a change.

MDP must do more explaining of its
policies and less bashing of Gayyoom
It was with high hopes and expectations that I went to
the meeting of MDP on Monday night. It was the first
general meeting after the formal registration of the
party. It was at times exhilarating and hilarious; but
it was at times disappointing as well. I don't think
anyone went there expecting it to be a circus where the
clowns performed and the kids clapped. We want our
political figures and organizations to be more mature
and organized. We may of course ridicule the regime when
the need arises, but the opposition politicians should
rise from the level of continuously ridiculing the
regime. We need to hear some concrete political talk as
well. more

OUR NATURE-
infected people identified as "them" and treated

Very few government experts, except some Libertarians,

self-evident, that all Men are created equal, that they
endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable
Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the
Pursuit of Happiness …"

Independence Day – Is it not a false sense of freedom?
Every year we tend to celebrate the 26th of
July with great jubilation and happiness but the actual
fact is that we are far from being really free people.
We are not occupied by a foreign power and according to
most historians, Maldives was never occupied.

much add up to gayooms dictatorial rule. Simply put

Fighting for freedom - 26th July 2005!
No doubt, the time
has come for all of us to bring an end to this unjust
and corrupt regime of Gayoom and his cronies. We all
believe that this government has done believable damages
to our country which no sincere Maldivian will ever
condone. These injustices for the past 27 years against
the sovereignty of the people prove its tyranny.
