Tsunami waves flood Haa Dhaal Atoll - Maldives

Male' and other islands in Maldives have been hit by devastating morning tsunami waves after earthquakes in the eastern Indian Ocean. Updates are published as we get them. Although the Maldives capital Male' is protected by a seawall, it is vulnerable to wave damage because the island is only a metre above sea level. Reporters in Male' say it is a serious situation. Emergency services have been mobilised.
