What's with Raagundaa?

Dhivehi Observer, 30 August 2005

Over the past few days and more specifically since Golhaabo made Buruma Gasim his Finance Minister, Golhaabo's brother - Raangondi Raajaa - has been in a huff and is reportedly not even going to his office. Sources within Dhivehi Rundinge Pary (DRP) have confirmed that Raagondaa is very upset about not getting the Finance portfolio and even more upset about the fact that Gasim is now the principle player of the DRP campaign to retain Golhaabo in power. Gasim is in fact hailed to be the new leader of the party and that is something Yameen is having great difficulty in digesting.

Yameen removing his flag post at his residence and using private cars are just some of the outward signs of his absolute frustrating over these issues. Some associates of Raagondaa are saying that Yameen and his nephews (the offsprings of Abdulla Hameed - former Atoll Minister) are in fact thinking of forming a new political party called, Kaaminee Kotharu Koshi Party (KKKP). The name is in respect for their late Father Kaaminee Seedhee, who had a very special relationship with pigeons. As ever, we wish them well.

Yameen is also very angry over the humiliation faced by his partner Chaandhanee Suja, who's company has been fined recently for producing false papers to import and register vehicles as well as for smuggling vehicles. This news was exposed on the internet by Dhivehi Observer and followed up by Transport Ministry, who found that the company in question had broken the law. Although the company has been fined and some cars confiscated, Suja is still as powerful as before and still at large, because as a member of DRP he above the law - 'aboudhiloa'.

According to our sources, Golhaabo has met his brother Raagundaa even yesterday to try and avert any divisions within his family, the Kaaminee Clan.
