The New website is published for Friends of Maldives (FOM). It reveals the aims and objectives of the FOM which started operating as a group late in 2003.

The FOM It is now a fully functioning organisation based in the UK but with members all over the world.

The aims and objective of the organisation are:

“FOM is an organisation devoted to improving awareness around the world of the Maldives and the Maldivian People. FOM aims to promote cultural links with the Maldives. FOM aims to improve freedom of speech and of association, protect human rights and encourage political pluralism in the Maldives. FOM aims to encourage a responsible, ethical and all inclusive approach to tourism in the Maldives.”

The organisation exists through the generous support of people who know and love the Maldives and the Maldivian people. FOM counts on the support of various governments and NGOs as well as individuals from numerous countries around the world including Maldivians.
