Opinion
Why Gayyoom decided on 31 December as the date for for the upcoming election. Why he always wants the day to be a Friday.
To minimize number of people who vote. (How many work in 87 resorts?) To minimize the amount of international media coverage. (If any).
To enjoy New Year's Eve. (Thinking of winning Male' seats).
To keep Sappe' and others away from New Year celebrations. (I hope it will not work).
Resorts are full and the owners or managers will not send many of the staff to vote. Most of the people who work in the resorts are against the regime, and they will not vote for government candidates such as Tourism Minister, Labor Minister, Trade Minister, Environment Minister etc..
I am from Addu and I work in a resort hnear Male’ and I will definitely not vote for Dr. Mustafa Lutfi and Hiyalee Mohamed Rasheed. They are not from Addu; they have not done anything for Addu, especially Hiyalee who has been there for many years.
I am campaigning for nobody, but I talk to my friends and ask them to talk to their family members about not voting for Hiyalee. I beg all the people from Addu, especially from Hithadoo - please, please, please DO NOT VOTE for HIYALEE. The benefit will be ours, he will definitely start thinking about what he can do for us and maybe will do something for our atoll when he loses and wants the seat back in another five years.
He has always spent a lot of money to buy votes. He gives money to people who earn a lot, and those who have their own business. Average citizens are forgotten by Hiyalee. There is no support for IFC, the corrupted club (I Fancy Corruption). Suzuki, Delight Allaa, Check Mark Ahanmadhaa all corrupt people from Hithadoo.
We hope to see our long awaited dream come true - Hiyalee voted out of parliament.
Remember God's delays are never God's denials; work hard, we will win. In-shaa-Allah.
