Seena Zahir reveals his animosity towards Anni plus his politically incorrect thinking

24 April 2005

The self proclaimed political guru’s recent interview to a local magazine

The speaker of peoples Majlis Mr Seena Zahir took a swipe at Nasheed and the opposition. He has stated that on many dissident websites he had been severely criticized for the Majlis incident. Further on he went to say that the opposition doesn’t know the rules and regulations of the Majlis let alone the constitution of the Maldives. What’s most interesting is the way he had referred to himself as the all time political expert.

The interview as a whole is filed with politically incorrect petty statements which he thinks is right.

First and foremost he is sitting in the people’s majlis not Gayoom’s majlis. Zahir is a man who once was rejected by the people in the last election he participated and failed miserably but when Gayoom felt like it he is now the mighty Speaker of the Majlis. Rayyath ahmed (people’s Ahmed) the norm de Guerra he uses upon himself is actually just the other way around. He should be called Gayoom’s Ahammadhu.

Any one challenging the government – this phrase uttered by the speaker is quite absurd since the Majlis represents the people and thus it’s really the backbone of government. How Zahir dissected the majlis members from the government is plain stupid. Maybe in his thinking is that Gayoom and his word is really the government.

Free media is what shapes the mistakes in day to day handlings of the government. When Zahir said that he doesn’t give a damn (I don’t care) about what people say is seriously politically ill. World leaders and governments look in to the feedback from the independent media and correct mismanaged issues.

Argument leads majlis speaker to banned website - Part 11

Looking at the interview we can clearly see that Zahir haven’t given up his old pastime. The innovator of GayoomDeebia (Gayoom City) frequently checks in to dissident and banned websites. But the unprofessional scenario is that by looking at the feedback and suggestions he doesn’t try to correct his mistakes. Perhaps he doesn’t care.
